Mantra
Mantra continued their strong play from the MLK tournament and started off on Sunday going undefeated in pool play. The girls received a first round bye in the play-offs, and promptly defeated NFVB 15 White 25-16, 25-22. Then they dispatched Niagara Rapids in the semi-finals 25-16, 25-22. Using a total team effort in the finals, Mantra defeated NFVB 16 Blue handily 25-14, 25-9. It was a great tournament for all VFX teams involved!Conjure
Conjure started their tournament season in style by winning the NFVB! After the Eagles Volleyball Club defeated both Spell and Mystic to reach the finals, Conjure exacted some revenge for their fallen VFX sister teams and defeated EVC 25-10 25-18 in the finals. Way to start 2008 with a tournament win!For more
Spell
Spell started their tournament season playing in Buffalo Sunday. They beat JAVA 14s in 3, winning the 3rd game 17-15. They then defeated NFVB Gold and VFX Jinx in two games. Serving was the key as Spell finished 1st in their pool going 3-0 to advance to the Gold playoffs. In the quarterfinals, Spell beat Clarence Devils in two games to advance to the semis. In the semifinals Spell played Eagle VBC. Spell lost ending their day at 4-1 in match play.
It was a great day for Volley FX Spell! They played with a lot of heart and as a team. Spell would like to thank Mystic and Conjure and their parents for cheering us on in our semifinal match. It was great being a in a gym with all that support.
