- Canisius College freshman Samantha Good was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. It’s the second time in the last three weeks that Good has received the honor.

In two Canisius road victories last weekend, Good led the Canisius offense by averaging 3.44 kills per set. Good had 13 kills and five blocks in the five-set win at Loyola – the fourth time this season Good has had 10 kills and five blocks in a match. The 5-foot-10 middle blocker then had a team-high 18 kills, the fifth time in six matches Good has led the Griffs in kills, to go along with three service aces and seven digs – both career highs – in the win at Rider.

Good leads the team at 2.68 kills per set on the season. In the team’s six MAAC matches, Good leads the team and ranks eighth in MAAC at 3.61 kills per set and is fourth in the league in hitting percentage at .297 (leading MAAC freshmen in both categories).

- University of Cincinnati Freshman Megan Turner was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced 10/5/09. Turner contributed three consecutive double-figure kill performances during the week. She started the week with 10 kills and eight digs at Dayton, before recording 12 kills against Pittsburgh and 10 versus West Virginia.
