Pure Delight for Rapture at Baystate Invitational

VFX Rapture 17-1’s traveled March 12th to the Baystate Invitational capturing 2nd in Gold.
In their first pool, Rapture finished second to DIGS 18-1, and second to Atlantic Valley 18-1 in the second pool. After a seeding pool, they faced off against VFX Illusion and split 15-12, 12-15, and then moved into the bracket. In quarters, Rapture went three and triumphed over Conn. Jrs. 18-1, then faced Cheetah 17-1 and won in two. In the finals they faced off against Atlantic Valley again, and came up a little short losing 27-29, 22-25 to a good team. Junior Kaitlin O'Hara said, “it was a great weekend and we had the opportunity to play some great volleyball against some great teams. Our team is really stepping up and coming together as a team.”
Raptures travels next to Baltimore for the North East Qualifier March 25th.

Illusion Rocks at Baystate Invitational

Illusion had a good weekend at the Baystate Invitational as well. Illusion started the tournament sweeping the first pool. Then in the second pool they went all the way to be put with Cheetah taking 2 from Cheetah and Keapa Whoosh and then losing to Southern Tier in 3. This resulted in a 3-way tie for 1st but Illusion came out on top from the tiebreaker. On Day two Illusion ended up taking second to Seascoast but did take 2 from DIGS. They swept first round to face off against AVVC in the Semis. They lost 26-24 and 25-23. Illusion finished the tournament third and now starts preparation for the Tampa Qualifier in Atlanta March 25th.

Spell has First Travel Tournament

Spell completed their first travel tournament playing in the 15 bracket at the Baystate Invitational March 12th. Finishing in a 3-way tie for 2nd in their first pool, losing to Husky 15-1s (6th of 29 teams in their region) and AVVC 15-1s and beating SMASH 14-1s in 3. In the 2nd pool they finished 2nd, losing to Pilgrim 15s and beating Pilgrim 14s. On day two, they entered the playoffs as the 10 seed for 15s and faced off against Husky in the first round, but the Husky’s had to forfeit due to injuries resulting in a bye. Next up was the #2 AVVC but they ended up losing in two. Coach Mark Thomey said, “This was our first travel tournaments and these girls are really coming together well.”

Conjure Play Up at Baystate Invitational

VFX Conjure 14-1’s entered the Baystate Invitational on March 12th playing up in the 16-club division. “The purpose was to expand the girl’s experience, meet new teams and keep practicing”, said Coach Matt Glover. Conjure finished 3rd in the first pool, and 4th in our second pool. On day two the girls came out strong but faced some tough competition, finishing 4th in the third pool and losing in the first round of the playoffs.
