Kate Love Magic Alumni 2005 spent her Spring break in Lake Charles, LA in support of United Way's Alternative Spring Break. United Way's ASB program brought hundreds of young people from across the country, ages 18-24, down to Lake Charles, Louisiana to help the communities of Southwest Louisiana rebuild from Hurricane Rita. During the week trip Kate helped repair homes that were heavily damaged by the hurricane.

I was so impressed by the people’s determination to rebuild, she said, calling those she met “the most positive people you’ll ever meet. The trip has "left an imprint on me," she said. "It’s probably the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done."
