June 21, 2007Christie Gustafson returns to coach, after 2 MVP Seasons and being named Siena Female Athlete of the Year:
Christie recently finished an amazing career with the Siena Saints. The graduate guided the Saints to their second MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. In her senior season, Christie only played in 78 games and 23 matches due to an abdominal injury. Even though she was not able to play the whole season, she still finished with 304 kills and 208 digs. She helped lead the Saints to a 56-63 overall record from 2003-2006 Christie finishes her career with 1,363 kills and 1,025 digs, one of only three Saints to ever reach the 1,000 kills/1,000 digs club.
"I have had a great career. I am lucky to have played with many great players and friends," commented Christie. "Now it is time for me to give back and pay it forward by going back to my roots, to where it all started-Volley FX."
She now returns to Rochester to work at Symbolic and help coach at VFX.
