Heavily-recruited outside hitter/libero Alyssa D'Errico's dreams have come true. Alyssa, of Magic (18-1), is becoming a Nittany Lion. Today, she gave her verbal commitment to Coach Russ Rose of Penn State University. Head coach Russ Rose has been coaching the Penn State Nittany Lions for 25 years, where his team has enjoyed a number of successful seasons - one of which landed the program at its first National Championship in 1999. Having watched PSU play for many years, Alyssa knew it was the right fit for her. "It has always been my dream, it is just so amazing when your dreams come true." Says Alyssa of her commitment to Penn State, "I just still can't believe it."

Although Alyssa's front-row play is outstanding and stands out most to some of her competitors, her relentless defense is what the Nittany Lion's are after - PSU is excited to have Alyssa enter their program in 2007 as a libero.

Congrats Alyssa!

Alyssa enjoyed Penn State and wore it on her shirt as only a little kid when she would go and watch the older kids play.

At 13/14 Alyssa would go and watch the PSU games, cheer them on and then meet the team after the matches.
