Ahoy, mateys... we've got another Pirate!
Allie Matters, a Magic (18-1) player, is casting off to become a Seton
Hall Pirate. Allie verbally committed to the university earlier this
week. SHU is a member of the Big East Conference with Maureen Rafferty
Del Roissi being named head coach for the Pirates this year. Maureen,
with her infamous energy and enthusiasm, is looking to Allie's aggressiveness
on defense and ball control to help the team right away in its up-and-coming
season. Allie is at the heart of Magic's success and will be for Seton
Hall as well. "I really think it is the perfect fit for me," states
Allie, "Mo has a lot of energy and excitement for the game... she
kind of reminds me of me."
Allie who is known for her leadership, talk and hustle on the high-profile
Magic team, spent this past year as an outside hitter. She has moved
this summer, for the Empire State Games and for the Magic '06 team, to
Libero - the position she was recruited to play at SHU.
Way to go Allie... this is your ship now!
