Abracadabra Day - January 8, 2006, 8:30-2:30 at RIT!
Abracadabra Day is a special time for VFX, it is when we take the opportunity
to unite the club across our teams and age groups, as well as bring together
and reunite alumni. This year's event will be held at R.I.T., on Sunday,
January 8, 2006. The event will run from 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM for the tournament,
and 1:30-2:30 for the Alumni / College Panel.
Details:
Tournament:
- All players from ages 15-up will be assigned to a "team" coached
by our various coaches.
- Coaches are assigned to various teams (9 Total) and players are assigned
to the coaches.
- Teams play in a "quick-tourney" for time or points in 2 pools.
- Based upon placement in your first pool, second pools are created.
- Top 4 records make the semis, play through for a winner.
Alumni / College Panel:
- Former Players from various backgrounds and college levels will assemble
to discuss and answer questions about their college experiences, how
club impacted their lives, and what they focused on to get where they
are today.
Cost:
There is no charge for teams to be in the tourney, BUT we will be requesting
a $1.00 donation to our newly started facility fund from every player,
parent and coach. Of course, you can give more... but to get in the
door you need to fork over the buck!
Younger players (14-10s) are encouraged to stop by with their parents
for part or all of the day, but they will still have their scheduled
practice that day.
